Pre-Terminated Central Loose Tube Fibre Optic Trunk Cables
- Factory terminated fibre optic trunk cables are a popular choice for:
- customers who need to complete an installation in a short time window e.g. overnight
- customers with limited manpower availability. By having the cables terminated in our factory you can take on bigger jobs
- customers who are not equipped to terminate fibre optic cables on site
- Low smoke zero halogen central loose tube gel-filled cable terminated with your choice of connectors. The loose tube cable offers better water resistance if the cable route is external
- 4, 8, 12, 16 or 24 fibre cable is available with 62.5/125µm OM1, 50/125µm OM2, OM3 & OM4 or singlemode fibre
- One end of the assembly has a pulling sock with a pulling eye (pulling eye included on lengths >49m only) that can be used for pulling the cable into position
- The other end of the assembly has a protection sock to protect the fibre terminations from damage during installation
- When the trunk cable has been installed the pulling and protection socks are simply cut off
- The lengths of the terminated connector tails are staggered to enable them to fit into the pulling/protection socks
- The terminated 250µm loose tube fibre tails are protected with 900µm PTFE sleeving and must be installed inside a patch panel, optical distribution frame, wall box or similar enclosure to prevent damage
- M20 cable glands and nuts enable the trunks to be secured to suitable holes in patch panels or enclosures
- The assemblies are fully tested in the factory and supplied with test results
- Trunks <50m long are supplied coiled in a heavy duty box. Longer trunks are supplied on a wooden cable drum
- We can label cables and drums with your cable route information upon request
