ECFL-30 Cable Fault Locator
- The ECFL30 telecommunication cable quality tester/fault locator combines four instruments in one:
- Active bridge for the accurate location of faults where the level of disturbing voltages are low
- Passive Wheatstone bridge for the location of faults where the level of disturbing voltages are high
- Graaf fault locator for accurate fault location on totally water-soaked cable where the level of disturbing voltages are usually high and intermittent. This two ended test requires two instruments or an ECFL30 and an ECFL30S slave
- TDR to find low impedance faults and splits causing cross talk between pairs
- A cable survey test sequence can help determine the most appropriate test method to be used
- The tester can perform:
- Resistance measurements (loop, insulation and resistance difference)
- Capacitance measurements (cable and capacitive balance)
- DC fault location (Murray, 3 Point, Kupfmuller and Repeated Kupfmuller)
- AC fault location (interruption and Repeated Kupfmuller)
- Graaf fault location
- TDR (single pair, double pair, crosstalk and comparison to memory)
- AC-DC voltage measurements
- Cable temperature measurement
- The instrument offers easy to use menus with pre-defined automatic test sequences to simplify operation
- It can remotely control far end devices (slave instrument or far end cable loop closing device) enabling one person to perform tests
- Test results can be stored in memory for transfer to a USB stick or PC (requires PC software option to be purchased)
- Optional single end line test software enables loss and data transfer speed estimation
