A pocket sized visible 650nm red laser fibre checker
Uses include:
Continuity checking of fibre optic systems
Identifying fibre ports in densely populated cabinets
Polarity checking of duplex 2 fibre connectors, links and patch cords
Fibre break locating. Red laser light is emitted from breaks in 250µm primary coated or 900µm buffered fibres and up to 3mm jacket patch cords (depending upon cable jacket colour)
Continuous wave or flashing mode (which can make it easier to see the light in congested cabinets)
Up to 5km range
Powered by 2 x AAA batteries (included)
The tester has a female universal 2.5mm ferrule interface (e.g. for FC, SC, ST, E2000 patch cords)
Female SC and FC adaptors are also included for SC and FC patch cords
A female LC interface enables singlemode LC patch cords to be checked
To interface with other 1.25mm ferrules or LC patch cords with different fibre sizes please order the optional VFL-ADP1.25 adaptor
